Active Living, Culture and Community for Seniors (Age 60+)

A Vibrant Circle of Friends: Our members gather regularly to share meals, stay active, and preserve traditional Japanese arts and culture.

Mission

To establish, maintain and operate a senior citizens’ centre through which recreational, social, cultural and educational activities and programs are provided.

Programs and Activities

Our activities include exercises, bridge, games, mah jong, chair exercises, line dance, odori, karaoke, conversational English, conversational Japanese, outings, guest speakers.

Operating Schedule

Our group generally meets weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

Membership Requirements

To maintain our programming and ensure access to appropriate facilities, the following guidelines apply:

Age Eligibility: Membership and program participation are open to anyone 60 years of age and older.

Annual Membership Fee: A nominal fee of $10.00 per year is collected to help offset general activity and program material costs.

Dual-Membership Requirement: Because we utilize shared community spaces, all program participants must also be registered members of the Calgary Japanese Community Association (CJCA) at a cost of $15.00/individual or $30/family.
